Retirement?

I was ready to retire from full time teaching in July. 47 years as an educator is plenty, especially with the changes (yet again) in the education system. Over the last few years I have moved out of Art Teaching and have been taking Junior Technology classes. This has the advantage of not having to deal with so much marking and assessment work, but the downside can be how to keep the lid on 25 13 and 14 year olds in a Workshop full of sharp things...
So, it was time. Except it wasn't - yet. I had a request from the Principal to stay on for the rest of the year as a part time teacher. There are very few Technology Teachers around and even fewer being trained. Nobody was available to take my job right now. So, I am doing part time (0.6) teaching until the end of the year.
While this means that I can't devote myself to my Art quite yet, it does mean that I still have a Workshop available to cut things up, play with Laser Cutters and 3D printers for a while yet! I can live with that.
Meantime, I am working on two new woodblock prints that I hope to have out in the next couple of months. You will see them here first.
